Eventos Culturais / Cultural Events: Visita Noturna ao Palácio de Monserrate / Night Tour at Monserrate Palace

No dia 12 de julho fui com uma amiga realizar uma visita noturna ao Palácio de Monserrate e assistir ao visionamento de um documentário sobre a fauna de Sintra.

O preço foi bastante acessível, 5 € e incluía o transporte ida e volta desde a Estação de Comboios de Sintra até ao Palácio de Monserrate.

Durante 35 anos morei no Município de Sintra e nunca tinha visto o Palácio de Monserrate por dentro porque este estava fechado ao público, apenas era possível ver os jardins e esses eu já conhecia. Aliás já tinha percorrido o percurso todo a pé até ao Convento dos Capuchos, passando por aqui, nos tempos em que era Escoteira.

Gostei imenso deste evento, quanto a mim apenas falharam duas coisas:

1 – Falta de Informação - à chegada à Estação de Sintra não havia informações sobre o Evento que ia decorrer, como quisemos chegar mais cedo para evitar o excesso de multidão, não havia nenhum cartaz no local a avisar esta iniciativa e nem o balcão do turismo, nem os comerciantes à volta estavam informados sobre o evento.

2 – Faltou a informação para levar uma almofada – porque estar sentada na relva durante 50 minutos custa um bocado e torna-se muito desconfortável.

De resto, foi uma oportunidade muito agradável e os transportes também foram eficazes e acessíveis.

Recomendo vivamente este evento se Monte da Lua voltar a realizá-lo e vale sempre a pena fazer uma visita a este Palácio localizado na lindíssima Serra de Sintra.

On July 12, I went with a friend perform a nocturnal visit to the Palace of Monserrate and watch the viewing of a documentary on the wildlife of Sintra

The price was very affordable, € 5 and included roundtrip transportation from Train Station Sintra to the Palace of Monserrate.

During 35 years I lived in the municipality of Sintra and had never seen the Palace of Monserrate inside because it was closed to the public, it was only possible to see the gardens and the ones I already knew. Incidentally had gone all the way to walk to the Capuchin Convent, passing through here, in the days when it was Scout.

I really enjoyed this event, just two things failed:

1 - Lack of information - on arrival at the Sintra station there was no information about the event that was happening, but we wanted to come early to avoid over crowd, there was no sign at the site to warn of this initiative and the counter or tourism or traders around were not informed about the event.

2 - It lacked the information to bring a cushion - because sitting down on the grass for 50 minutes costs a bit and becomes very uncomfortable.

Moreover, it was a very nice opportunity and transports were also effective and affordable.

I strongly recommend this event if the company Monte da Lua (Moon Hill) back to realize it and always worth a visit to this Palace located in the beautiful Sierra de Sintra.
