Esta semana vi no Facebook uma imagem que recolhi para
mostrar aqui trata-se de um livro das
contas da Casa de Borghese,
que se encontra no Arquivo Secreto do
Vaticano, o item mais pesado tem 60
kg.
This week saw on Facebook a picture that gathered here
to show it is a book of accounts of the Borghese house, which is in the
Vatican Secret Archives, the heaviest item is 60 kg.

Tem vindo também a circular pela internet
a notícia que a revista "Travel + Leisure" colocou a Livraria Lello,
sediada no Porto, no topo da lista das 15 livrarias mundiais mais
"cool" (estilosas ou fixes, numa tradução livre), referindo que o
átrio coloca o enfoque na escadaria encarnada, "espetacular o suficiente
para te fazer parar".
"É uma das livrarias mais distintivas
que – contra as probabilidades da indústria – continuam a florir pelo mundo.
Para viajantes, estas lojas para além de seleções de livros bem feitas compilam
uma abundância de beleza, carácter e história local dentro das suas
paredes", pode ler-se no texto da edição deste mês da revista do grupo
Time Inc.
A lista inclui outras livrarias clássicas
como a Shakespeare and Co., de Paris, e a Dominicanen, de Maastricht.
A edição de Janeiro da "Travel +
Leisure" inclui ainda um texto sobre os "novos hotéis boutique de
Portugal", no qual se pode ler que "Portugal é normalmente ignorado
por viajantes em detrimento de França, Itália e Espanha", mas, em tempos
recentes, "vários lisboetas e imigrantes europeus têm aberto propriedades
pequenas e centradas no design que estão a atrair os visitantes conhecedores e
a estabelecer o país como o próximo grande destino em estilo".
A livraria Lello volta assim a figurar
numa lista de melhores lojas dedicadas a livros a nível internacional: a CNN
incluiu-a numa lista idêntica à da "Travel + Leisure" em Setembro do
ano passado, o britânico "Guardian" pô-la em terceiro lugar na lista de
melhores do mundo em 2008, tal como o guia turístico "Lonely Planet"
o viria a fazer em 2012.

Mike Stilkey é um novo fenómeno no mundo da arte, e não é
difícil perceber o porquê.
As suas apelidadas
"Esculturas de Livros", são peças constituídas maioritariamente por
livros antigos e usados, resgatados de lixos e bibliotecas. Depois de
encontrada a quantidade de livros que necessita, une todos e fica com uma
enorme e bela tela ao seu dispor.
É nestas instalações
que Stilkey coloca as suas pinturas, na sua maioria de retratos de pessoas e
animais antropomórficos. As lombadas fazem um efeito magnífico e um jogo de
cores muito criativo.
Their dubbed "Books Sculptures", consist
mainly of old parts and used books, rescued from garbage and libraries. After
found the number of books you need, unites all and gets a huge and beautiful
screen to choose from.
It is in these facilities Stilkey puts his paintings,
mostly portraits of people and anthropomorphic animals. The spines are a
magnificent effect and a very creative play of colors.
