um lugar de bibliotecário em Saint-Geneviève, onde ele trabalhou até Maio de
1914. Duchamp conseguiu ali não só um pequeno vencimento à hora, como pôde afastar-se

Durante
um curto espaço de tempo Marcel Duchamp aproveitou a sua incursão pelo mundo
dos bibliotecários para aumentar o seu conhecimento através da leitura de
livros, dos quais obteve conhecimentos fundamentais para o desenvolvimento da
sua obra.
By the end of 1912, Picabia used his influence to get
a place to Duchamp as librarian in Saint-Genevieve, where he worked until May
1914. Duchamp got there not only a small salary at the time, how could he move
away from painting circles and introduce himself in the realm of scholarship.
