Desde pequena
sempre tive o hábito de acompanhar o Festival da Eurovisão, por vezes fiquei
desiludida por ver Portugal perder, mas este ano confesso que fiquei satisfeita
porque ganhou a candidata que apoiei, Conchita Wurst, da Áustria, conquistou a
59º edição do Festiva da Eurovisão. Tom Neuwirth, verdadeiro nome de Conchita
Wurst, apresentou-se em palco com cabelo comprido, vestido e barba, conseguindo
convencer o júri com a interpretação da canção Rise Like a Phoenix, com 290 pontos, seguida pela música da Holanda com 238
pontos e pela da Suécia com 218 pontos.
Ao
receber o troféu Conchita Wurst disse: “Esta noite é dedicada a todos os que
acreditem num futuro de paz e liberdade. Somos unidade e somos imparáveis”. A
figura deste travesti de 25 anos tinha motivado polémica e críticas,
especialmente no Leste da Europa.
Após a
vitória, Wurst disse em conferência de imprensa que o "seu sonho se tornou
realidade” e que a sua participação na Eurovisão lhe mostrou que “há pessoas
por aí que querem o caminho do futuro e continuar, não a andar para trás ou a
pensar no passado”.
Esta é
apenas a segunda vez que a Áustria vence o festival da Eurovisão, a primeira
aconteceu em 1966,
quando Udo Jürgens conquistou o primeiro lugar no Luxemburgo, com a canção Merci
Cherie. Apesar do título francês, o tema era cantado em alemão.
Tinha mesmo de o ser, já que nesse ano entrou em vigor a regra que obrigava os
concorrentes a cantar na língua oficial do seu país. A alteração, que foi
imposta pelos protestos de alguns países contra o facto de a Suécia ter
apresentado, em 1965, uma canção interpretada em inglês, fará sorrir os que
assistiram a esta última edição do festival, no qual constituíram excepção os
temas que não foram cantados em inglês.
O
austríaco recebeu muitos aplausos durante o concurso mas também muitas
críticas, tendo mesmo sido lançadas petições online na Bielorrússia,
Arménia e Rússia para que os excertos da sua participação fossem retirados ou
editados quando exibidos nas televisões nacionais.
A
organização da edição deste ano do festival, assegurada pela Dinamarca,
declarou a tolerância como o tema principal do evento. Nas ruas de Copenhaga
foram colocadas várias bandeiras arco-íris, símbolo do orgulho gay,
durante a última semana.
Além da
controvérsia criada em torno de Conchita Wurst, a Eurovisão ficou ainda marcada
por uma questão política, com a Rússia de um lado e a Ucrânia do outro. Não
terão havido quaisquer atritos entre as gémeas russas Tolmachevy e a ucraniana
Mariya Yaremchuk, mas a sua participação ficou marcada pela actual crise na
região.
Durante
as suas actuações, as irmãs Tolmachevy receberam em alguns momentos apupos de
membros do público, o que levantou dúvidas sobre se a classificação russa seria
afectada pela anexação da Crimeia por Moscovo e pela posição anti-gay que
recentes decisões governamentais têm assumido a partir do Kremlin.
Na
atribuição de pontos pela Ucrânia, as gémeas ficaram em terceiro lugar, atrás
da Polónia (em primeiro) e da Arménia (em segundo). Já a Rússia, colocou a
Ucrânia na terceira posição e a Bielorrússia e Azerbaijão nos primeiros lugares
– são países habitualmente aliados da Rússia, quer na Eurovisão quer no campo
político. Na classificação geral, a Ucrânia ficou em sexto e a Rússia em
sétimo.
A
controvérsia subiu de tom depois da organização do festival ter decidido que os
votos da Crimeia seriam contados como votos da Ucrânia, por causa dos códigos
telefónicos nacionais.
Independentemente das questões políticas ou
sexuais, quanto a mim o que importa é que foi um performance de elevado nível e
que Conchita mereceu ganhar.
Para além disso pareceu-me um pouco ridículo as
pessoas pagarem para votar quando o público tem 50% de peso e um júri nacional tem
direito a outros 50%. Assim, nem vale a pena votar. Se calhar está na hora de
fazerem tipo o concurso da TVI, Rising Star e criarem uma aplicação informática
para quem quiser votar.
Para o ano que vem espero que seja possível
encontrar uma música com mais qualidade para representar Portugal e que tal uma
música meio em português, meio em inglês, porque neste momento quase já ninguém
canta nas línguas nacionais durante o Festival da Eurovisão. Enfim, mudam-se os
tempos, mudam-se as vontades e é preciso evoluir e deixar espaço à liberdade de
escolha e ao respeito para com o próximo.
Podia escrever rios de tinta com argumentos
para defender esta atuação, contudo não me vou alongar porque independentemente
de tudo, ela ganhou.

marked by a political issue, with Russia on one side and Ukraine on the other. There
have been no clashes between Russian and Ukrainian Mariya twin Tolmachevy
Yaremchuk, but their participation was marked by the current crisis in the
region.
During their performances, the sisters received Tolmachevy at times booing
members of the public, which raised doubts about whether the Russian
classification would be affected by the annexation of Crimea by Moscow and the
anti - gay position that recent government decisions have assumed from Kremlin .
In awarding points by Ukraine, the twins were in third place, behind Poland
( first) and Armenia (second) . Now
Russia, put Ukraine and Belarus in third and first places in Azerbaijan -
countries are usually allies of Russia, both in Eurovision both in the
political field. In
the overall standings, Ukraine and Russia ranked sixth in seventh.
The controversy rose in pitch after the festival organizers have decided
that the votes would be counted as the Crimea in Ukraine vote because of
national telephone codes.
Irrespective of the political and sexual issues, as for me what matters is
that it was a high level of performance and Conchita deserved to win.
Also seemed a bit ridiculous people pay to vote when the public has a 50%
weight and a national jury is entitled to another 50 %. So it not worth voting. Maybe
it's time to make the contest type of TVI, Rising Star and create a computer
application for those who want to vote.
For next year I hope that you can find a song with better quality to
represent Portugal and that through such a song in Portuguese, half in English,
because at this point almost no one sings the national languages during the
Eurovision Song Contest. Finally,
change the times, change is the will and we must evolve and leave room for
freedom of choice and respect for others.
