Neste inquérito sobre o acesso à cultura e à participação cultural, o primeiro desde 2007, foram entrevistadas cerca de 27 mil pessoas (uma pequena amostra de uma população de 738 200 000 habitantes) nos países pertencentes à UE. Em 2012 apenas 38% dos cidadãos da UE realizaram alguma actividade cultural, sendo o cinema a única actividade a manter os níveis de adesão. (Provavelmente estes dados já sofreram alterações porque devido à crise e ao aumento do custo dos bilhetes de cinema já há muitas salas a fechar no país).

Os países nórdicos (como sempre) foram os que obtiveram melhores resultados em termos de frequência de participação em actividades culturais, como visitar museus. Na Suécia, 43% dos cidadãos consideram ter uma taxa de participação elevada ou muito elevada, seguindo-se a Dinamarca e os Países Baixos, com 36% e 34%, respectivamente.

Portugal, juntamente com Chipre, tem lugar no fim da tabela, com apenas 6% da população a registar uma participação elevada ou muito elevada, sendo ultrapassado apenas pela Grécia, onde o valor é de 5%. Em Portugal, 49% dos cidadãos aponta a falta de interesse como razão para não ler livros. Já no âmbito da música, 39% diz não ter ido a concertos no último ano por falta de dinheiro.

As actividades mais comuns dos cidadãos da UE são assistir/ouvir programas na televisão/rádio (72% fê-lo pelo menos uma vez no último ano). As escolhas menos habituais são a ópera, o ballet e os espectáculos de dança (18% no último ano).

Sabe se lá bem por que motivo surgimos sempre nas piores posições neste género de estudos. Se calhar é necessário fazer uma reflexão profunda sobre a nossa integração numa Europa tão diferente e cada vez mais desigual.

Eu adoraria ir ao cinema, aliás quando morava em Lisboa ia regularmente, mas aqui em Chaves só há uma sala de cinema, mas que é daquele género tipo teatro adaptado. Para ir a uma sala de cinema temos de ir até Vila Real, são cerca de 60 quilómetros, 120 ida e volta, para ir ver um filme e lanchar porque sempre se come alguma coisa, digamos que é uma saída salgada. Aqui no interior a oferta cultural é bem diferente da dos grandes centros e para quem trabalha ir a certos sítios é impensável porque quando estamos de folga também os museus e as bibliotecas estão fechados. Se calhar as pessoas não vão devido à forma como os serviços estão pensados e estruturados.

Pessoalmente sou fã de uma grande diversidade de eventos culturais, quando vou a Lisboa aproveito para visitar imensos museus e exposições, ir ao cinema, leio livros regularmente, adoro teatro e ballet mas quase sempre fui com convites. É como vos digo o dinheiro não chega para tudo e quando eu era pequena neste país a entrada em muitos Castelos era gratuita e agora tudo se paga a peso de ouro. Consigo perceber que é necessário conservar e para isso é necessário dinheiro, mas não vale a pena estarem sempre a deitar a moral dos portugueses a baixo se à partida já se sabe porque as pessoas não consomem eventos culturais: porque não são formadas para isso e porque há outras prioridades nas suas vidas.

A vida está cara… e a cultura nem sempre é para todos.

Portuguese are among the EU citizens with lower frequency of cultural activities.

In this survey on access to culture and cultural participation, the first since 2007, about 27 thousand people (a small sample of a population of 738.2 million inhabitants) were interviewed in countries of the EU. In 2012 only 38 % of EU citizens held a cultural activity, being the only film activity to maintain membership levels. (Probably this data has been altered because there are already many rooms close to the country due to the crisis and the rising cost of movie tickets).

The Nordic countries (as always) obtained the best results in terms of frequency of participation in cultural activities such as visiting museums. In Sweden, 43 % of people consider having a rate of high or very high participation, followed by Denmark and the Netherlands, with 36 % and 34 %, respectively.

Portugal along with Cyprus, takes place at the end of the table, with only 6 % of the population experiencing a high or very high participation, surpassed only by Greece, where the value is 5 %. In Portugal, 49 % of people cite the lack of interest as a reason for not reading books. Meanwhile, in music, 39 % said to have attended concerts in the last year for lack of money.

The most common activities of EU citizens are watching / listening to programs on television / radio (72 % did so at least once in the last year). The less usual choices are opera, ballet and dance shows (18 % last year).

You know there is always a good reason why we came up in the worst positions in this kind of studies. Maybe we need a deep reflection on our integration in Europe so different and increasingly unequal.

I love going to the movies, in fact when I lived in Lisbon went regularly, but here there is only one in Chaves movie theater , but that gender is adapted theater type . To go to a movie theater we go to Vila Real , is 60 miles , 120 round trip to go see a movie and a snack because we always eat something, say it is a salt output. Here within the cultural offer is very different from the major centers and those working to go to certain places is unthinkable because when we are off also museums and libraries are closed . Maybe people will not due to the way services are designed and structured .

I'm personally a fan of a wide variety of cultural events , when I go to Lisbon to visit I take immense museums and exhibitions , going to the movies , read books regularly , I love theater and ballet but almost always went with invitations . It's like I say not enough money for everything and when I was little in this country in many Castles entry was free and now it all paid their weight in gold . I can understand that we need to conserve money and it's necessary , but not worth being always lie to the low morale of the Portuguese to the starting already know why people do not consume cultural events: because they are not trained for this and because there are other priorities in their lives.

Life is expensive ... and culture is not always for everyone.
