 Opinião pessoal:

Na sequência do filme da semana passada A Vida é Bela lembrei-me deste filme que vi já há alguns anos. Lembro-me de ter achado o argumento muito comovente e de ter considerado um dos melhores filmes sobre a II Guerra Mundial e posso vos assegurar que já vi muitos filmes sobre este tema.

Adorei o desempenho de Adrien Brody e recomendo o visionamento deste filme.

Personal opinion:

Following last week's film Lifeis Beautiful I remembered I saw this film some years ago. I remember to have found the argument very moving and having one of the best movies about World War II and I can assure you that I have seen many films on this subject.

I loved the performance by Adrien Brody and recommend viewing this film.

Sinopse

O pianista polonês Wladyslaw Szpilman (Adrien Brody) interpretava peças clássicas numa rádio de Varsóvia quando as primeiras bombas caíram sobre a cidade, em 1939. Com a invasão alemã e o início da 2ª Guerra Mundial, começaram também as restrições aos judeus polacos pelos nazistas. Inspirado nas memórias do pianista, o filme mostra o surgimento do Gueto de Varsóvia, quando os alemães construíram muros para encerrar os judeus em algumas áreas, e acompanha a perseguição que levou à captura e envio da família de Szpilman para os campos de concentração. Wladyslaw é o único que consegue fugir e é obrigado a refugiar-se em prédios abandonados espalhados pela cidade, até que o pesadelo da guerra acabe.

Synopsis

The Polish pianist Wladyslaw Szpilman (Adrien Brody) played classical pieces in a Warsaw radio when the first bombs fell on the city in 1939. With the German invasion and the beginning of the 2nd World War, also began restrictions on Polish Jews by the Nazis. Inspired by the memory of the pianist, the film shows the emergence of the Warsaw Ghetto, when the Germans built walls to close the Jews in some areas, and monitors the persecution that led to the capture and transmission of the Szpilman family to concentration camps. Wladyslaw is the only one who manages to escape and is forced to take refuge in abandoned buildings around the city until the nightmare of the war is over.
