Opinião pessoal:

O Artista foi o grande vencedor dos prémios Óscar 2012, na sua 84ª edição, porque apesar de ter recebido os mesmos cinco prémios que um outro filme intitulado “Hufo Cabret” conseguiu arrebatar os prémios nas principais categorias - melhor filme, melhor realizador, melhor actor (Jean Dujardin), a que se juntaram os prémios para guarda-roupa e partitura original.

Ainda não vi este filme. Provavelmente irei ver brevemente.

Considero que Hollywood está a atravessar uma crise de criatividade e a prova disso mesmo é que este é o primeiro filme estrangeiro a ser galardoado pela academia com tal destaque. Mesmo tendo em conta que apesar de ser um filme mudo de origem francesa aborda um período da história de Hollywood.

E vocês o que acharam deste filme?

Personal opinion:

The artist was the big winner of awards Oscar 2012, in its 84th edition, because despite having received the same five prizes that another film entitled "Hufo Cabret" has managed to snatch the awards in major categories - best picture, best director, best actor (Jean Dujardin), which joined the prizes for costumes and original score.

I have not seen this movie. I'll probably soon see.

I think that Hollywood is experiencing a crisis of creativity and evidence of this is that this is the first foreign film to be awarded by the academy with such emphasis. Even taking into account that despite of being a silent film from France covers a period in Hollywood history.

Sinopse

O Artista é um filme mudo francês dirigido e escrito por Michel Hazanavicius e protagonizado por Jean Dujardin e Bérénice Bejo. A história decorre em Hollywood entre os anos 1927 e 1932, focando-se em George Valentin, um actor em declínio e Peppy Miller, uma actriz em ascensão enquanto o cinema mudo sai de moda, sendo substituído pelo cinema falado.

Hollywood, 1927. George Valentin é uma das maiores estrelas do cinema mudo. Certo dia conhece Peppy Miller, uma jovem e ambiciosa figurante, por quem fica fascinado. Mas a chegada dos filmes sonoros marca o fim da carreira de George, e faz de Peppy a nova grande estrela da nova indústria.

  

 Synopsis

The Artist is a French silent film directed and written by Michel Hazanavicius and starring Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo. The story takes place in Hollywood between the years 1927 and 1932, focusing on George Valentin, a player in decline and Peppy Miller, an actress on the rise while the silent film goes out of fashion, being replaced by talkies.

Hollywood, 1927. George Valentin is one of the biggest stars of silent films. One day he meets Peppy Miller, an ambitious young helper, who is fascinated by. But the arrival of sound films marks the end of the career of George and Peppy makes the next big star of the new industry.

·         O filme estreou no dia 15 de maio de 2011 em competição no Festival de Cannes.

·         O Círculo de Críticos Cinematográficos de Nova York escolheu o filme mudo O Artista como o melhor de 2011. Além de eleger Michel Hazanavicius como melhor diretor. O filme chamou atenção nos festivais deste ano, após receber críticas positivas. Com este último prêmio, o longa praticamente se credencia para concorrrer ao Oscar de melhor filme.

·         O Artista teve um orçamento de US$ 15 milhões.

Curiosity:

•         The film premiered on May 15, 2011 in competition at Cannes.

•         The Film Critics Circle of New York chose the silent film The Artist as the best 2011. In addition to electing Michel Hazanavicius for best director. The film drew attention at festivals this year, after receiving positive reviews. With this latest award, the long concorrrer practically qualifies for an Oscar for best picture.

•         The artist had a budget of $ 15 million.
