Esta semana, para começar a rubrica do filme da semana, trago-vos um filme do século passado. Trata-se de um filme rodado em 1999. E que tive a oportunidade de rever recentemente.

Sinopse: Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp), um agente policial de Nova Iorque, foi enviado para a pequena cidade de Sleepy Hollow para investigar um caso relacionado com decapitações e lendas de folclore. Segundo os habitantes de Sleepy Hollow, o cavaleiro sem cabeça veio das profundezas do Inferno para declarar vingança sobre a cidade...

Quanto a mim trata-se de mais um filme fantástico que conta com a participação do actor Jonhny Depp e realizado por Tim Burton. Uma dupla que já estamos habituados a ver trabalhar em conjunto.

A nível da imagem trata-se de um filme muito escuro e sombrio para criar uma atmosfera de algum terror.

“A Lenda do Cavaleiro sem Cabeça” foi escrita por Washington Irving em 1820, foi já muito explorada, originado não só diversos filmes, como também séries infantis. A versão mais famosa é esta realizada por Tim Burton, que explora não só a luta entre a racionalidade e a superstição como o lado sobrenatural da história.

Alguns acontecimentos da lenda mencionada foram modificados nesta adaptação de Tim Burton. Na história original, a personagem principal, com o mesmo nome, Ichabod Crane, é o professor errante numa terra provinciana. Supersticioso, medroso e aproveitador dos seus sucessivos hóspedes, salta de casa em casa onde colecta as histórias de fantasmas e aparições da região. Apaixona-se pala filha de um rico fazendeiro, não tanto pelos seus atributos físicos, mas pela perspectiva de herdar as terras e comodidades; o que o leva a ganhar um inimigo temível, Brom Bones.

Considero-o sobretudo um bom filme de entretenimento.

For me it is fantastic that another film with the participation of actor Jonhny Depp and directed by Tim Burton. A couple that we are used to do work together.
